About the Role

As a Jr. Software QA Engineer, you will contribute to the success of the software development department. Working closely with the Quality Assurance and Development teams, you will be responsible for creating, running, reporting on, updating, and maintaining test cases, along with tracking software issues. You will learn and apply QA best practices and will contribute to the adoption of team processes and policies. This is typically an entry-level QA position for a candidate who is currently pursuing or just finishing a technical degree.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with QA leadership to understand and implement testing practices, then focus on providing consistent, timely and predictable releases to our customers (internal and external)
  • Develop strong understanding of our software applications, execute test cases and track related issues through to resolution
  • Regression test to ensure product continually meets desired standards
  • Dig into and report on customer-reported issues to ensure clear understanding
  • Develop strong understanding of product functionality, inter-relations between functionality, and inter-dependencies between product modules
  • Collaborate with other QA team members, developers and project managers to help ensure projects are completed according to schedule and desired quality standards
  • Continually develop technical skills related to the QA team's purpose and function'including learning test automation
  • May provide some technical support to customers
  • Other tasks as assigned by management


  • Bachelor's Degree in CS (or similar technical degree), or actively pursuing such a degree, or has equivalent years of related work experience
  • 0-2 years experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Recent and demonstrable experience with software coding principles is a must
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical product requirements to determine what new test cases are required to ensure product meets requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in team situations as well as independently
  • Ability to maintain a professional, optimistic and energetic presence, often in an environment with changing plans/requirements
  • Strong time-management skills

Preferred but Not Required

  • Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, PHP, SQL
  • Experience testing web sites

Work Schedule

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
